Some events will require some sort of permit, and in certain situations you may want to have participants sign some kind of liability release form.  If you have concerns about permits and liability, here are some suggested local resources:

• Town or City Clerk
• Police Station
• Parks and Recreation Office
• Local area lawyers
• Local non-profits or other groups that have organized events in the past

NOTE:  Unfortunately, we cannot offer specific advice on liability since these laws differ by state.  If you are concerned, please consult with liability experts in your area for the proper legal information.
