Calling for a transition to a clean energy economy that will create millions of new jobs and pathways out of poverty. The 1Sky campaign is organizing one of hundreds of rallies being held across the country to participate in the “Green Jobs Now” National Day of Action on Saturday, September 27th on the podium at the 800 block on State Street.

Madison, WI – Calling for a transition to a clean energy economy that will create millions of new jobs and pathways out of poverty. The 1Sky campaign is organizing one of hundreds of rallies being held across the country to participate in the “Green Jobs Now” National Day of Action on Saturday, September 27th on the podium at the 800 block on State Street. Representatives will be coming together from different sectors of the community including faith-based, social justice, environmental, labor, business, and community-development groups from Latino and African-American groups to talk about their stakes in the new green economy. Participants will listen to the speakers, take photo petitions, march down State Street, and sign petitions in front of the capitol building urging elected officials to invest in the creation of millions of green jobs and a Clean Energy Corps to re-power America.

1Sky is a new national campaign to pass strong and effective climate legislation in the United States. The campaign urges climate change legislation and policy that commits to the realization of strong short-term targets for the reduction of global warming emissions. Climate change legislation and policy must benefit the public, jumpstart a clean energy economy, and protect vulnerable populations. Overall, climate change policy must transform our energy priorities.
